Farid Ahmad Rahmani Joins SOHT as Community Engagement Specialist
July 4, 2022 – Joining the SOHT Team as our new Community Engagement Specialist, Farid brings over 14 years of experience in community engagement and project management. His extensive academic achievements include a master’s in Public Health and an MD degree. He is experienced in designing, planning, and implementing community engagement and health interventions from his role as a Social and Behaviour Change Officer with United Nations Children Fund in Afghanistan. Previously a Community Outreach Worker at Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, Farid has first-hand experience in working with and understanding the needs of the Scarborough population, mapping and engaging with key stakeholders, and developing and implementing community outreach plans.
He is passionate about working with internal and external stakeholders to engage with SOHT populations to ensure that services and health system redesign will both capture and incorporate the voices, experiences, and values of Scarborough residents a into a robust, co-design engagement framework. Farid will also work to integrate aspects of Communications and the SOHT Communications Working Group with the voice of the community, including creating and publishing communication content and supporting SOHT’s participation in community and other local/regional events.
